Edit - After about 3 weeks of no contact, Damien finally reached out and apologized for the delay. Had multiple conversations with Damien and they sent me 2 brand new tires! Excellent post purchase customer service, 5 stars!! I worked with David on a 2024 Tesla Cybertruck. He was great to negotiate with and tried very hard to meet all my expectations. Excellent communication and if he didn’t know something he would find out. I got the car delivered with 6399 miles and everything looked great, until I took it to a tire shop to get the tires rotated and balanced. They told me my tread depths were so low at 4/32” that they couldn’t legally rotate them and needed to be replaced. So you could imagine my shock at buying nearly an $80,000 vehicle with bald tires. I reached out to David multiple times and he was responsive, forwarded my complaint to Damien who handles these issues. Damien was also pleasant to speak to and helpful. Damien suggested I do my own readings with a tread depth gauge and get back to him. So I have the readings and they are correct, 4/32”. Not safe to drive. No contact from anyone at trust auto, so I called Damien again. He said Maryland inspection law says they can sell tires at 3/32” Clearly not safe but Trust Auto doesn’t care since they are within guidelines. Since I’ve gotten the readings it’s been radio silence. It’s now over a week later and no contact from anyone at Trust Auto. I will reach out a few more times to give them the benefit of the doubt, but at this point I feel fleeced and cheated. A car with 6399 miles shouldn’t have bald tires, and these tires are $500/ea. All I want is to be treated fairly and be made whole. Buying a car should be a joyous experience, not a stressful one. I shouldn’t have to shell out $500 a tire immediately post purchase because Trust Auto failed to disclose the wear and tear on the tires. If that was the case I wouldn’t have bought the car just to spend $2000 instantly. I’d happily edit this review if they end up reaching out and rectifying. Do your due diligence before purchasing from this dealer.
